Umbriel LLC, a healthcare analytics firm, has developed an innovative technique for assessing and comparing health care providers’ performance.

Mr. Vasudevan founded Umbriel LLC in order to bring to market the new analytical tool for evaluating health care quality that he developed. Previously, he practiced health care law in Chicago. It was in the course of his law practice that he first became interested in the issue of health care quality measurement. Drawing on experience in economics and consulting, he created his own measurement model, which forms the basis for the company’s Health Care Comparison Handbook.
