Olive Street Design Launches Website for Elmhurst Food Pantry

Olive Street Design is excited to launch a new website for Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry (EYFP).  Our good friend, Jim Ruprecht, is a part of this outstanding organization, and they are involved in the charitable distribution for the relief of hunger for those who live in Elmhurst and the surrounding communities.  EYFP was founded in 1983 and now distributes food to clients three times a week, 52 weeks a years.

EYFP has their New Pantry Campaign, in which they are looking to meet the needs of their hungry neighbors.  They are building a Community Food Pantry in order to meet the growing demands of the hungry in the best and most cost-effective manner.  EYFP has reached its capacity at their current facility, which makes it very difficult for them to provide food to those who need it.  Through their website, you have the ability to donate in several different ways.  You are able to donate:

  • Money
  • Food
  • Equipment, materials and services

The staff at EYFP are all volunteers who are not paid.  They are all dedicated to helping others, since:

  • There are 100,000 people in DuPage County who are food insecure
  • 16.4% of children in DuPage County are food insecure
  • $65,321 is the average income needed to maintain self-sufficiency for a family with 2 children
